Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump faced off each other for the first time at the US Presidential debate. The debate went on for one and a half hour a lot of points were discussed and a lot of shade was thrown at each other.

After the debate, several analysis pieces sprung up online. But one thing that everyone noticed was the Hillary Clinton Shimmy.

Donald Trump accused the Democrat candidate of lacking the temperament a president will need to be in the Oval Office and Hillary responded with this—

A gif was born!

In the digital age, with its millennials and Gen Z, it was only a matter of time before the gesture got translated into gifs and memes.

First up were Shaquille O'Neal and Hillary shimmying at each other.

Lena Dunham, creator of HBO's Girls, posted this

Jonathan Mann, the YouTube star who writes and composes one song a day, took the shimmy and turned it into a song, encouraging voters to pick Hillary over Donald Trump on November 8.

Be warned, the tune is catchy and it will get stuck in your head!

This is not the first time Hillary resorted to dancing as a reply to a snarky comment or just for fun. It all started at a Bill Clinton campaign event in 1996 in NYC when Hillary joined in for the Macarena —

And then a bad attempt at responding to a twerk —

A happy jig!

She tried the 'Whip and Nae Nae'.

And then graduated to the 'dab'.

Ellen, don't ever stop feeding us gif material. EVER!

Over the years, Hillary has given creative minds online a lot of reaction gifs to fall back on when words fall short.

For example, bored out of your skull? Here's Hillary at the US Congressional inquiry over the email scandal.

Here's a shoulder brush for when you want to brag about your achievements.

Are relatives lecturing you on your career, relationships and future plans? Throw a Hillary gif at them.

We know this is your internal Hillary at that same discussion

This is how we think the shimmy was perfected over the years.

This could be your reaction for "Did she just say that? I TOTALLY support it."

There are two more presidential debates to come before the United States casts its vote on November 8, 2016. Let's get ready to immortalise these moments!
