Fresh tremors of 4.2 magnitude hit Nepal

Three fresh tremors struck Nepal this morning, triggering panic among the people still reeling from the impact of the devastating earthquake that has claimed nearly 8,000 lives. 

A 4.2-magnitude tremor was recorded at 1.50 AM with epicentre at Sindhupalchowk district, 100 km east of Kathmandu, one of the worst affected districts. Another 4-magnitude tremor was recorded at 2.44 AM with epicentre at Udaypur district.

The third tremor was of 4.4-magnitude which struck at 6.34 AM with epicenter at Sindhupalchowk/Tibet, according to the National Seismological Centre, Kathmandu. However, no damage was reported so far.

More than 156 tremors with 4 or more magnitude on Richter Scale have struck Nepal since the 7.9-magnitude earthquake on April 25 that killed nearly 8,000 people.
