French former prime minister Francois Fillon would win France's upcoming presidential election in a runoff against far-right National Front leader Marin Le Pen, according to an Ifop Fiducial poll published on Wednesday.

Fillon, currently under fire over allegations that his wife benefited from a fake job as his parliamentary assistant, was seen winning 60 percent to Le Pen's 40 percent in the May 7 runoff, in the poll for Paris Match magazine.

The poll was conducted among 1,400 voters on Feb. 29-Feb 1 and included the assumption that centrist Francois Bayrou, who has yet to say whether he is a candidate, would run.
