A flight attendant on Alaska Airlines rescued a teenage passenger from a human trafficking incident when she felt something wasn't right between her and the man accompanying her.

49-year-old Shelia Frederic said she became suspicious when she saw the girl looking 'dishevelled and out of sorts,' reported Local TV station 10 News. When Frederick attempted to speak to her, the older male passenger intervened and got defensive.

Frederick discreetly told the girl to go to the bathroom. On a note Frederick left for her, the girl wrote that she needed help. Immediately, Frederick notified the pilots and police were waiting at the gate when the flight landed.

In 2016 alone, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 2,000 traffickers, NBC News reported.

Thanks to her training, Frederick spotted the signs of trafficking saying the girl and the well-dressed man seemed mismatched. She also said the girl 'looked like she had been through pure hell'.

Frederick is being hailed a hero for her quick thinking that led to saving the victim of human trafficking.
