The first victim of AirAsia flight QZ8501 crash, found in the Java Sea, has been laid to rest in the Indonesian city of Surabaya. The remains were identified as belonging to a female passenger called Hayati Lutfiah Hamid, reported the BBC.

She was buried at a ceremony which was attended by family and friends. The number of bodies recovered since the crash has increased to nine.

The search operation for the plane and the remaining bodies is being hampered due to bad weather conditions.

The AirAsia plane went missing on Sunday while traveling from Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people on board.
