A Canadian woman has been sentenced to seven years for manslaughter. Cheyenne Rose Antonie, 21, killed her friend Brittney Gargol, 18, in Canada.

Two years ago in March 2015, Gorgel was found strangled to death near a landfill in Saskatoon. She was found without her shoes, lying on her back and with a belt. The only circumstantial evidence was the belt that was found near her body.

Police had no leads for two years. Crown prosecutor Robin Ritter said it was "a very long and complicated investigation", the court heard how Antoine used Facebook to leave "some bread crumbs" to mislead the police, posting about Gargol's whereabouts a few hours after her death.

Antonie also called the police to register a statement that Gorgol was with her last night. She gave all the details to the police stating that they went to several bars. She added that they met people before Gorgel made contact with an unknown man .

Antonie informed the police that two strangers from Toronto murdered Gargol. They had held a gun to her head and forcefully made her help both of them to cover it up.

The police found a picture as evidence on Facebook. Six hours before Gorgel was found dead, both of them had posted a Facebook selfie. The picture showed Antonie wearing a belt similar to the one found near Gorgel's body.

Antony in a statement through her lawyer said, "I will never forgive myself. nothing I say or do will ever bring her back. I am very, very sorry... It shouldn't have ever happened."

"Most days we can't stop thinking about Brittney what happened that night, what she must have felt fighting for her life," Jennifer Gargol, Brittney Gargol's aunt said in a statement to the court.
