It's not everyday that a regular person gets to fly Suites Class on a Singapore Airlines, and Derek Low was no different. Until recently, that is. When he booked himself on Suites Class on a flight from Singapore to New York, he documented every minute of this once in a life time experience.

From a special golden ticket, exclusive access to pre-departure private lounge, carefully crafted gastronomic experiences to his own private suite jazzed up with the latest in electronics, this is no ordinary journey, and Derek had to stack up a really large amount of frequent flier miles to be able to afford the whopping S$23,000 priced ticket (US$18,000) for what is touted as the world's plushest commercial travel class.

In his blog post that is making waves on social media, Low says, "Formerly, the only way for an average person to fly in the Suites was to take out a bank loan. And then I remembered that most of my personal net worth exists in frequent flier miles rather than cash. So in September 2014, after splurging an colossal amount of miles... I was booked on Suites Class to New York!"

His journey began much before the flight took off. His arrival was anticipated with much preparation at Singapore's Changi Airport. Low writes, "I had almost forgotten that Changi had a luxurious check-in lounge especially for First Class and Suites passengers."

As soon as he was checked in, Low was escorted to the Private Room, dubbed as the lounge that is higher than the business class. He describes his experience: "I followed her (an attendant) past what seemed to be 50-60 people in the Business Class lounge. She walked noticeably fast, seemingly afraid that I would be disgusted by the presence of the working class."

The blog continues as a series of photos of the private suites on the A-380, exquisite meal options and perhaps the most luxurious air travel experience that befits the likes of celebrities and Kings. Or as Derek puts it , "I have to say, after being served Dom Pérignon in a double-suite bedroom at 36,000 feet, I’m not sure flying experiences get any better than this."
