Co-pilot of the ill-fated Malaysian Airline Flight MH370 was reportedly set to marry long-term girlfriend and fellow pilot.

Fariq Abdul Hamid, 27, had been planning to marry his girlfriend Captain Nadira Ramli, 26, who works for AirAsia.

The duo studied together at the Langkawi pilot school and has known each other for nine years.

According to news.com.au, Ramli is holed up in Kuala Lumpur, where she is apparently being 'a pillar of strength' for Hamid's mother and encouraging other friends and family not to watch the news because of all the misinformation that is coming out.

A relative of Ramli said that she was positive about the incident and despite what has happened, she still has a glimmer of hope.

The Malaysian Airline MH370 went off radar on March 8 enroute from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people onboard.

Ramli has reportedly been given a month's leave from her job at AirAsia as she deals with her sadness over her fiance's disappearance.

Recently, two women passengers claimed that Hamid and another co-pilot had invited them into cockpit during an international flight in 2011, where he talked to them throughout the journey turned backwards in his pilot seat, smoked and posed for photographs.

It has been also revealed that Hamid was the last person to communicate from the cockpit of MH370 before communication was cut off, the report added.
