Ansari recently met Akhara Parishad president Mahant Gyan Das to discuss a new proposal for resolution of Ayodhya dispute and they plan to put it before the Supreme Court. The formula for out-of-court settlement broadly talks about the 70 acres of disputed premises accommodating both mosque and temple with a partition wall which will be 100 ft high, according to Gyan Das, who is chief priest of Ayodhya's famous Hanuman Garhi temple.
Ansari, the main litigant in Supreme Court from Muslim side, wants to create a mass awareness and gather the support of community leaders for the cause. Ansari said, "This is neither one man's job nor the one man show, if we want to find out a peaceful solution of this more than sixty years old problem, that has claimed many innocent lives in the communal riots, it is necessary that the responsible people of Muslim community and the religious leaders must have to come out to discuss it."
"I will contact all the Muslim political and religious leaders including All India Muslim Personal Law Board president Maulana Rabe Hasani Nadvi and MIM chief MP Asaduddin Owaisi." "I had good relations with Owaisi's father, I had also campaigned for him in his elections," he said. Ansari's son Iqbal Ansari, who holds legal authority to pursue the case in the Supreme Court, said, "The formula of negotiated settlement will be based on both temple and the mosque in the acquired area, then only we will be able to mobilise the Muslim masses for the cause."
Supporting Iqbal's idea, Khaliq Ahmad Khan, another main litigant in the case, said, "The Supreme Court in its judgement has given the arrangements that whoever will win will get the site of original Babri Mosque and the party which will lose will get the land adjacent to former Babri masque structure." Ansari met Gyan Das at Hanuman Garhi premises along with his son Iqbal Ansari.
The negotiation process, which started after the September 30 2010, Allahabad High Court verdict over Ayodhya issue, was largely being supported by cross section of the civil society and religious leaders from both the communities.
"We are drafting the final points of negotiation draft which will be presented before the Supreme Court soon after the hearing starts," Gyan Das said after the meeting on Wednesday, adding, they will be meeting the Prime Minister also to seek his cooperation.
