Austria: Gunman goes on rampage at concert, kills 2

On Sunday, Police said a gunman killed two people and wounded 11 at an open air concert in western Austria, and then killed himself, according to AP.

The shooting occurred at around 3 a.m. at the concert, which was attended by 150 people, in a town called Nenzing , near the border with Liechtenstein. 

A police spokeswoman said that the  27-year-old gunman had a row with his girlfriend at a nearby parking lot. He then left the parking lot with a gun from his car and entered the concert venue,  allegedly shooting at random. The girlfriend was unharmed.

Police are still investigating the incident, as the full circumstances are not yet known.

In the past year, Europe has been the target of multiple terror attacks. Early in November 2015, a gunmen and suicide bombers attacked restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium at locations across Paris, killing at least 153 people. On March 22, attacks on Brussels airport and a rush-hour metro train in the Belgian capital which killed at least 34 people.  The coordinated assault triggered security alerts across Europe. The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for both attacks.
