Around 3,70,000 people have fled from Ukraine to neighbouring countries due to violence between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists, says the United Nations.

UN spokesperson Jens Laerke said that almost 3,66,000 people have fled to Russia and some 2,63,000 people have been displaced within Ukraine.

Laerke said that these were extremely conservative estimates and that the real number would be much higher.

He remarked that around 5.1 million people live in areas around the conflicted region and almost 2,900 people have died.

UN's refugee agency earlier said on September 2nd that around 2,60,000 people had been displaced inside Ukraine.
