It looks as if US President Donald Trump isn't over with his war with mainstream media. After Friday's press conference, President Trump posted a tweet criticising mainstream media coverage of his press conference, a freewheeling affair during which he lambasted journalists for being dishonest and accused them of deliberately misrepresenting the facts to hurt his administration.

However, a letter shared by the US President to the American citizens has since gone viral. In the letter, President Trump says, "Friend, You know that I don't trust the media to report on anything we achieve. Instead, you - the American people - are our list line of defence against the media's hit jobs. You are our general asset in helping our movement deliver the truth to the American people. Which is why I need you to take the Mainstream Media Accountability Survey to do your part to fight back against the media.

"Over these next four years, our movement will be subjected to some of the nastiest attacks you can imagine. But just like during the campaign, we need to stay focused on getting the job done and accomplishing our shared goal to Make America Great Again.

"That's why I've made it a point to cut through the media's noise and go straight to the American people. It worked during the campaign, and it will work again during these next four years.

"But I can't do it alone. I need you by my side, supporting our message and doing your part to get the truth to American voter.

"Please take the Mainstream Media Accountability Survey to do your part to fight back against the media's attacks and deceptions. Thank you, Donald J Trump"

Most of the questions lead the reader to confirm an assertion about how unfairly Trump has been treated by the media.

Here is an example of some of the questions asked:

Mainstream media were critical of the survey. National Public Radio wrote an opinion piece stating that the poll was only sent to people on Trump's mailing list, which would result in a biased response.

In another letter, President Donald Trump also criticised the Democrat Party for 'conspiring against him.'
