More than 20 workers are missing after gas explosion in a coal mine in China's eastern Anhui Province on Tuesday. The accident took place in the early hours at Xiejiaji District of Huainan City, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The coal mine has an annual capacity of 90,000 tonnes, according to the provincial coal mine safety supervision bureau.

Rescuers are on the way, the report said.
