Millions across Britain are voting to decide whether it should remain a part of the European Union in a referendum that could change the course of the nation.

Over the past few days, the 'Leave' campaign was seen making its grounds stronger although initially, the 'Remain' campaign had dominated the pre-poll forecasts.

With David Cameron renegotiating for a "better deal" for Britain within the EU, the 'Remain' campaign has regained some chances of victory.

While there have been numerous controversies over Brexit, such as whether the people are aware enough to make a decision which will essentially affect the global economy, a lot of factors will be affected by Britain's exit.

The Leave side, in arguing against the status quo, have asked the public to vote to take back control of the UK's borders and finances. Immigration has been the central theme throughout and likely to swing most of the votes.

Chelsea pensioners are reflected in a puddle of rain water as they leave after being ushered into a polling station to cast their ballot papers at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, as Britain holds a referendum to vote on whether to remain in, or to leave the European Union (EU). Millions of Britons began voting Thursday in a bitterly-fought, knife-edge referendum that could tear up the island nation's EU membership and spark the greatest emergency of the bloc's 60-year history.
