Indian and Pakistani Twitterati share a bitter-sweet relation on social media. Sharing the same culture, language and ethos but divided by love for their respective countries, often their paths cross. Barbs are exchanged, sometimes as good natured banter but often as vitriolic attacks on each other. Very recently when Pakistani players went overboard in their celebrations in the hockey Champions Trophy semifinal, Twitter users from both countries were up against each other.
But as they say, tragedy unites all. Specially when hapless kids are being targeted by Taliban. Thus on Tuesday Twitter users from India used #IndiawithPakistan in solidarity with their brethren from across the border. It comes just a day after #illridewithu trend was started by Australians to provide security to minorities who may have felt jittery after terror attack in a Sydney cafe. It is heart warming yet a touch sad that it needs a terror attack to unite people from both sides of the border.
No parent should have to bury their child. #IndiawithPakistan
