A 35-year-old Pakistani man was shot dead by gunmen on a motorcycle when he was taking his four children to school in the port city of Karachi, a media report said on Wednesday.
Imran Abbasi was killed in Soldier Bazaar area on Tuesday, The News International reported.
The attackers opened fire from an automatic weapon as he was dropping his children to school. The gunmen fled after the incident, while locals who rushed to the scene found the children standing over the body and weeping.
Police said the victim was a Shia and called his murder a sectarian attack.
As news of his death spread, armed men took to the streets and started firing in the air. A few gunmen barged into a shop and opened fire at two people, injuring both.
