Not only this, but the bride also took of her bridal lehenga and returned to her parents' home in plain clothes.

When things got worse, the police reached the location, however, despite several hours of consultation at the police station, nothing good came off of it.

A case of a love affair!

Police say that the incident took place in the Lawayan village of Khuthan in UP's Jaunpur. The bride slapped the groom and went to her parents' home amid the preparation for their reception. The news of the new daughter-in-law's actions spread like wildfire in the entire village. Reports say that this strange incident took place because of a love affair.

According to a report in Zee News, when the groom's procession reached the bride's house, amid the residents of Lawayan village, the marriage was completed with great pomp. The girl also quietly performed the rituals, but the next morning after the 'bidaai', everyone was stunned as the bride slapped her husband in front of everyone. The women of the family were about to take the bride inside the house when all this happened.

In a similar incident about 10 days ago, during 'Jaimala', a young man from the groom's side started climbing on the stage, the people on the bride's side asked him not to do so. Due to this, a fight started between the 'baraatis' and the 'gharaatis' after which the angry groom also slapped the bride. The matter escalated so much that the police had to intervene.
