'Deep Dive Dubai', the world's deepest swimming pool has opened in Dubai's Nad Al Sheba neighbourhood. The pool has been verified by Guinness World Records as the world’s deepest swimming pool for diving at an incredible depth of 60.02 meters and holding 14 million litres of water — the equivalent of six Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The pool is shaped like a giant oyster in line with UAE's pearl diving heritage. The size of the facility is 1,500sqm. It also houses a dive shop, a gift shop and an 80-seat restaurant that will be open to the public later this year.

Among other features, "Deep Dive Dubai' also has two underwater habitats with a dry chamber at six and 21 meters, 56 underwater cameras covering all angles of the pool and mood lighting as well.
The pool got a nod from Dubai's Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who took to social media on Wednesday to invite adventurers to give it a try. "An entire world awaits you at Deep Dive Dubai," he wrote, as he posted a video of the pool.
The water, filled in the pool is filtered and circulated every six hours through siliceous volcanic rock, NASA-developed filter technology, and UV radiation is one of the largest and fastest filter systems in the region. The pool water temperature is maintained at an optimal 30°Celsius for diver comfort.
At the moment, 'Deep Dive Dubai' is open only by invitation. Public bookings will open in late July on their website for residents and visitors aged 10 and up.
