Trash talking American revolutionaries take sides over who will win the Super Bowl. And yes, Tom Brady is mentioned too.
Americans are getting ready for one of the important events of 2018 with Super Bowl final between New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.
The National Football League's championship game in Minneapolis is expected to draw millions of eyes when the game begins on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET (6:00 am on February 5 IST) kickoff.
While fans of both sides are ready for the battle and trash talk on social media is reaching a peak, Saturday Night Live imagined a version of such sledging when American Colonies were fighting the British for their independence in the late 1700s.
Host Natalie Portman lead the pack of New England Patriots fans with cast member Alex Moffat, Luke Null, Heidi Gardner, and returning member Rachel Dratch who grew up outside Boston.
While boasting about having won 'a lot of times' Portman in an over-the-top accent gave credit to dynasty. "Dynasty, that’s the word you’re looking for - dynasty," she said. The group proudly talked about 'coffee from Dunkin' and their lobsters.
All the while making Football puns, they couldn't stop praising their Captain Thomas Brady until former cast member Tina Fey showed up representing Philadelphia Eagles.
Fey was flanked by Mikey Day and Kenan Thompson. They too touted 'mad strong Phillies' with their hoagies and corn fritters from Wawa.
Fey named themselves Eagles because, "Like eagles, we Philadelphians are swift, we are deadly, and our eyes are a little too close together."
Then began the trash talk. Fey called Boston a college town with a fishing pier. That did Dratch whose come back was, "Talk to us when you in one numbnuts!"
