Canadian PM Justin Trudeau was already subjected to many memes and GIFs for his sartorial choices during India trip and popular US TV show hosts have added to his misery.

Trudeau, who made an eight-day visit to India, was criticised by John Oliver and Trevor Noah on their respective shows for going 'desi'.

"Justin Trudeau gets a little too woke on his trip to India... I don't know if you've noticed but it seems like as Donald Trump gets more and more un-woke, Justin Trudeau is compensating in the other direction. The only issue is, the Canadian PM keeps going too far," Noah said on his The Daily Show.

Commenting on Trudeau's outfits during the entire trip, Noah said he looked as if he is for auditioning for 'Jai Ho', a song from Slumdog Millionaire.

"The Indians all look like they showed up for a diplomatic conference, and (Trudeau) looked like he was auditioning for 'Jai Ho'" he added.

Oliver also poked fun at the Canadian PM on his show Last Week Tonight and also zeroed in on the Trudeau family's widely criticized outfits, calling it "national dress pandering".

Oliver said Trudeau was already off to a rocky start after he received a "snub" from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who had sent a junior minister to welcome the Canadian PM at the airport.

"He didn't help the situation by going in heavy on the national dress pandering with Indian outfit after Indian outfit - that seemed a bit much," Oliver said.

"Trudeau's visit turned out to be the most unwatchable white person's trip through India since The Darjeeling Limited. But Trudeau was actually lucky, because his trip was overshadowed by a visit from Donald Trump Jr," he added.
