Ekta Kapoor is rebooting the series 17 years after the original show had released.
First teaser trailer for the highly anticipated reboot of Ekta Kapoor's popular series Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2 has finally arrived.
The media mogul took to her various social media accounts to post the 40-second-long teaser of the same. She captioned the post, "Feeling excited to bring back the epic saga of love #KasautiiZindagiiKay, Coming Soon only on @StarPlus.@BTL_Balaji @ChloeJFerns"
The teaser doesn't really reveal the faces of the actors but it's a brilliant throwback to the original series with the same palette of the scene and the title track. Fans of Shweta Tiwari's Prerna and Cezzane Khan's Anurag will feel the nostalgia in an instant.
Ekta Kapoor has been coy about revealing the names of the lead pair. But according to various media reports, Parth Samthaan and Erica Fernandes will be the new Prerna and Anurag of the show.
Erica, on the other hand, had given away nothing about her casting in the show. Earlier she had said, "Oh no! that's completely not true. Having said that, it's great to know that Kasautii is making a comeback, as it was a really nice show. If I sign something, I would break the news myself. Until then, I am just going to travel around the globe and explore."
Reportedly, Parth Samthaan beat Ssharad Malhotra and Barun Sobti to nab the lead role. If the rumours are to be believed, adding Parth will come with its own perks and massive fan following. The actor was part of web seriesKaisi Hain Yariyan 3 before being linked to the KZK 2.
Ekta Kapoor in a series of tweets had said that her reboot of a 'young love story' cannot have old people leading it. "The lead Anurag cannot be over thirty playing twenty four na?" she added.
Another important and fan-favourite character from the original series was of Komolika (made popular by fabulous Urvashi Dholakia). Reports suggest that Hina Khan has been roped in to play the character in the reboot.
The details about the premiere date and basically everything else about the show are still under wraps.
