Wait, What? After 'Pehredaar Piya Ki' will 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' also be BANNED?

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is hands down one of the most popular and longest running sitcoms on Indian Television. The TV show is a huge hit and is immensely loved among the common masses. But did you know that the show has landed in a controversy for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikh community. 

REportedly, a Sikh community has been protesting against the show and has demanded that the show should b banned for hurting their religious sentiments. In a statement issued to the media, SGPC chief Kirpal Singh Badungar stated that the sitcom has hurt the sentiments of the community by portraying a living character of tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh which was against Sikh tenets. 

The statement further said, "“No actor or any character can equate himself with the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh. Such an act is unpardonable.” Recently, another TV show, Pehredaar Piya Ki had been pulled down because of its content and the subsequent petitions that followed, calling out for a ban on the show. 

Will a similar action be taken against Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah as well? Watch this space...
