TV hottie Shama Sikander, who shot to fame with the 2003 Television show Yeh Meri Life Hai, is known for turning up the heat on Instagram with her sizzling hot pictures. The actress previously grabbed a lot of eyeballs for her character in Vikram Bhatt's web series Maaya, based on BDSM. The actress had been battling bipolar disorder for quite a long time but eventually she was able to emerge victorious. Shama first opened up about her struggle with bipolar disorder back in March 2016.

Now that she's successfully battled it, Shama wants to create maximum awarenedd about it. She aims to do that through her series of short films Ab Dil Ki Sun, which focusses on the issue of mental health and how to deal with it.

While talking to IANS, Shama shared that she didn't know how she could survive bipolar disorder and said that it was the most difficult thing she has done in life. She was quoted as saying, " I don't even know how I survived! I still wonder how strong I must be to be able to survive (it). I have always been unashamed of my life and not very afraid of sharing it to the world as well to a great extent."

Shama further told the agency that she wants to reach out to people and tell them, "There is light after all that darkness, so do not worry. I came out and you can too. That has become my purpose. And I am doing my best to raise the awareness in every way I possibly can."

Speaking about the concept of Ab Dil Ki Sun, Shama expatiated, "I play myself and everyone... I am you and me and everyone living in this world. It's more like an open conversation rather I would say. The whole idea is to bring people's attention to these illnesses and the reasons behind depression."
