Kapil Sharma must be a relieved man today. Months after his co-stars quit, The Kapil Sharma Show has finally regained its lost spot and is back in the reckoning. This week's BARC ratings show that Kapil has finally managed to come back to no 5 in Week 22 (May 26-June 1).
After an ugly spat with Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar, Kapil has been the lone comedian managing his show. TRPs dipped in the last three months as the show couldn't manage it's position. Kapil's show has consistently been in the top 5 but post their exit, it couldn't keep the same momentum. But now things are looking up for the funnyman.
The episode which had cricketers Suresh Raina, Hardik Pandya and Shikhar Dhawan on the show and even when Mahesh Manjrekar and wife Medha Manjrekar came to promote their Marathi film Friendship Unlimited aka FU has done well and brought back The Kapil Sharma Show back in the TRP race.
This comes in the midst of several rumours about Sony wanting to pull a plug on Kapil's show and introduce a new show altogether with rival Sunil Grover aka Dr Mashur Gulati. So, will the new statistics change that dynamic? Should Sunil be worried? Your guess is as good as ours!
