'Stranger Things 2' releases spooky Halloween poster on first day of fall

As the first day of October rolled around, two things happened. People woke up Green Day and 'Stranger Things 2' released their Halloween themed poster.

In the spooky poster Jim Hopper, played by David Harbour, is seen standing in the middle of a dark, smokey, pumpkin field bathed in creepy moonlight.

Caption for the image reads, "Trick or treat."

It appears, Hopper is looking for something.

The showrunners have been releasing 80s themed posters to promote the which is set to return for second season on Octorber 27.

The current poster feels like an homage to all the classic Halloween movies.

The posters released before this one paid tribute to movies like The Goonies, Jaws, The Evil Dead, Firestarter, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Stand By Me, The Running Man, and Alien.
