Music talent hunt show Rising Star is all set to return with its second season. An Indian version of the international franchise series by the same name, it is a singing competition that involves live audience voting.

The first season had Shankar Mahadevan, Monali Thakur and Diljit Dosanjh, who made his TV debut, as the mentors on the show. Meiyang Chang and Raghav Juyal were the hosts. Now, for the second season, the makers have retained the mentors, but changed the hosts.

Ravi Dubey, who was last seen in Khatron Ke Khiladi 8, has been roped in to host the show along with child star Parth Dhamija of Chhote Miyan Dhaakad fame. Says Ravi, “The fact that India gets to vote for their favourite singers in real time is what intrigued me to take this on.” He adds that hosting TV shows and televised events like Zee Rishtey is a space that excites him. “The respect for oneself increases because one is doing it without any cuts. It is good for you as an overall performer.”

Rising Star 2 will be aired in once Bigg Boss 11 wraps up early next year.
