'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' actress Amita Udgata passes away due to lung failure

Television industry has lost its veteran actress Amita Udgata. The actress who became a household name with the role of 'Amma' in 'Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya' has passed away. The actress had been in a city hospital from last four days and was kept alive by life support. She breathed her last on Tuesday night after she succumbed to lung failure. 

Amita Udgata was last seen on Shaheer Sheikh and Erica Fernandes’ show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi as Dadi Bua and is survived by two sons, Ruchin and Rishab. Reportedly, her last rites will be performed on Thursday as her family is waiting for her elder son to return from abroad. 

Amita Udgata was associated with Doordarshan from 1979 to 1990 and later went to shined bright in shows like ‘Maharana Pratap’, ‘Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo’, ‘Doli Armaanon Ki’ amongst others. She has also done films like, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'Sarbjit' and Parineeti Chopra-Sidharth Malhotra's 'Hasee Toh Phasee'. Her close friend and actress Abha Parmar told India Today, “We were more like sisters than friends. I am from Kanpur and she was from Lucknow. I wasn’t aware that her condition so serious. I was supposed to visit her today. She was a great actress and a friend and we have faced life’s struggles together.”
