Amitabh Bachchan is all set to return to TV with one of  the most popular reality shows, KBC. Kaun Banega Crorepati season 9 is going to get audience glued to their Television sets once again as contestants on the show turn millionaires overnight, depending upon their knowledge.

Till now their have been four lifelines for the contestants on the quiz show, 50:50, phone a friend, audience poll, expert advice and a new lifeline called 'code red' which was introduced in season 8 of KBC. The show's season 9 will now see more changes in the lifelines. A new lifeline called 'Jodidaar' has been introduced, in which the contestant can bring along a partner who can advice him on the show.

'Phone a friend' now becomes 'Video a friend', which enables contestants to make a video call to their friend for help.

Unlike the earlier seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati, this time, the show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan will also have a shorter run. KBC season 9 will have 30-35 episodes only. But on the brighter side, they won't take three years to return with KBC like it happened this year. The makers of the popular quiz show have promised to make it an annual affair from now.

Our sources also informed, “The channel has many reality shows lined up. Soon after KBC, they want to bring the second season of Super Dancer, then there is Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega, which is returning after two years. Even the comedy show with Sunil Grover is being worked upon. Hence, KBC will have a short season this time.”

Interestingly, there will be no film promotions on the show as well. Stars are welcome on KBC 9 only when they are accompanied by a contestant or when they are raising money for a social cause.

Amitabh Bachchan, who began hosting the show in 2000, has hosted all its previous seasons, barring one in 2007, when Shah Rukh Khan took over the hot seat. Since then the Shehanshah of Bollywood has been an integral part of KBC and cherishes the experience of meeting his fans and contestants whose life struggles have been inspirational.
