Following the ritual of creating controversies with every new season, Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan is now in the news for the episode featuring Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. Both the cricketers, coming for the first time on the show, found themselves stirred in the controversy post their sexist and misogynist comments.

This has led to the episode being pulled down from Hotstar, the app which streams all Koffee With Karan episodes. The cricketers have now been served with a notice, where they have to give an explanation and based on the explanation, they might be banned from playing cricket.

While Pandya apologized tweeting, "After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments. Respect," Rahul hasn’t said a word in regards to the matter.

On the show, Hardik, while talking about why Hardik does not ask names of the women he meets in nightclubs, said, “I like to watch and observe how they (women) move [in nightclubs]. I’m little from the Black side so I need to see how they move.”

That wasn’t only it. He went on to say, "At a party my parents asked me acha tera wala (women) kaun sa hai so I said yeh, yeh, yeh (pointing out women) and they were like waah proud of u beta." Would it be the same had it been a girl in his place though?

Another cringe-worthy round was when Karan Johar asked, “If y'all hit on the same women, then how you decide?” to which KL Rahul said, "Ya upto the woman", and Hardik Pandya added, "Nahi nahi aisa kuch nahi hai, talent pe hota hai. Jiso mila woh leke jao."

When Karan Johar asked about the most embarrassing thing in a locker room, Pandya once again said, "I like to spank, bando ko dhappad karke dene ka, unko lagta hoga mere liye normal hai," which was rather assumed to be sexual harassment.

Virat Kohli also gave his views on the matter at the Sydney Cricket Ground ahead of the opening ODI against Australia. He said, "From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don't support and the two concerned players felt what has gone wrong and they have understood the magnitude of what's happened. Definitely it has to hit anyone hard, they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right."
