From being named Padmavati to Padmaavat, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus has had a tough ride so far. The film is finally up for release on January 25 when Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor's film will clash with Akshay Kumar-Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor starrer PadMan.

Amidst protests by Karni Sena demanding a ban on the film, it is reported that the film's cast members, Deepika, Ranveer and Shahid, have been told to avoid any form of media interactions. As per a report in Mid-Day, the makers worry that statements made at interviews could cause further uproar ahead the film’s release. "The makers want to keep promotional work minimal to avoid controversy. Also, the cast members are busy with other commitments.", a source informed Mid-Day.

Meanwhile, Padmaavat is the first Indian film that will have a global IMAX 3D release. It has been cleared for release by the CBFC with a U/A release certificate post the incorporation of only 5 modifications.
