Netflix original show The Crown unveiled the first look of Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip.

The third instalment will see all the new faces play the characters that we have come to love over the span of two seasons. First looks of Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Ben Daniels as Anthony Armstrong-Jones are already revealed.

Dressed in the complete regalia Menzies' look shows a middle-aged Prince Philip. Definitely, significantly older than Matt Smith's young and brash version.

Smith recently revealed that he indeed gave some tips to Menzies on how to play the Royal family member.

"I said a few things to him. I told him a good book to read by Philip Eade called Young Prince Philip, which is very good. You know how it's like, you can't offer up too much. But I just said, 'God, make sure they pay you enough and make sure it's even'," he told Late Late Show host James Corden.

The official Twitter handle of the show captioned the image: "Ambition." A stark contrast to when they introduced Colman as Queen with the caption "Patience."

Menzies is known for working in Game of Thrones and most recently for playing dual roles in fantasy series Outlander.

Apart from the aforementioned cast, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles, and Marion Bailey as the Queen Mother are the new additions as well.

Scheduled to be aired later in 2018, The Crown season three will focus on the 1960s-1970s decades that covers the era of UK Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
