Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals, the Rhoynar, and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, Breaker of Chains and Mother of Dragons, on Game of Thrones shared an emotional post about bidding farewell to her home away from home.

The last season of Game of Thrones is being shot in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Though Clarke has said before that she is done shooting her part, this post could be either hinting at last minute reshoots or a wrap party that will celebrate the journey of the cast and crew.

From season one of the award-winning show, Clarke played the role of Daenerys Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series based on the book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. Her pairing with Jason Momoa's Khal Drogo is one of the OTPs (One True Pairing) in GoT fandoms. Her recent pairing with Kit Harington's Jon Snow sparked a great many theories about how the stories of these characters will end.

Getting sentimental about the decade-long time invested in the character, Clarke took to Instagram to share her thoughts.

She wrote, "Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for almost a decade. It's been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I'd be able to live and the family I'll never stop missing."

Talking about shooting her final scene, Clarke had told Vanity Fair, "It fu***d me up. Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavour in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is…"

Being coy about what's in store for Daenerys, Clarke added, "I’m doing all this weird shit. You’ll know what I mean when you see it."

Game of Thrones season 8, that has only six episodes, will air in 2019.
