As 'Mahabharat' re-run ends, DD Bharati to air Nitish Bharadwaj's 'Vishnupuran'

Re-run of the mythological show, Mahabharat went off air on Wednesday evening as the final episode was aired. The show which was a hit even during its re-airing made fans get glued to televisions during 12 pm and 7 pm every day on DD Bharati channel. Mahabharat was one of the many shows that Doordarshan decided to air again during the ongoing coronavirus lockdown across the country. Now that Mahabharat is over, another mythological show is replacing it.

Yes, we are talking about Vishnupuran in which Nitish Bharadwaj who played Lord Krishna in Mahabharat, will be seen in ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. DD National's Twitter page made the announcement by writing, "देखिए चक्रधर भगवान श्री विष्णु के अवतारों और महिमा की कथा “विष्णु पुराण” आज रात 7 बजे से सिर्फ DD Bharati पर। #Vishnu_Puran"

Along with Nitish, Vishnupuran also stars Vaidehi Amrute as Lakshmi, Sudhir Dalvi as Bramha, Samar Jai Singh as Shiva among many others. The show is created and directed by Ravi Chopra, who was also the maker of Mahabharat. The show has 126 episodes which cover 'The story of Dhruv', 'Matsya Avatara and the theft of the Vedas', 'Kurma Avatara and the churning of the ocean', 'Narasimha Avatara and Prahlad's trials of faith', 'Vamana Avatara and Mahabali', 'Parashurama Avatara and the Kshatriyas ', 'Rama Avatara and Ravana' and 'Krishna Avatara'.
