After abusive Twitter rant, Kapil Sharma files complaint against journalist for alleged extortion attempt

Comedian Kapil Sharma went on an abusive rant spree on Friday shocking his Twitter followers with the language of his posts.

It started with defending Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, but quickly turned into an ugly account of abuse towards media.


The host of Family Time with Kapil Sharma then targeted journalist Vicky Lalvani and claimed that he is trying to extort Rs 25 lakh from him. According to ANI, the comedian filed a police complaint against his ex-managers Neeti, Preeti, and journalist Lalvani for starting false and malicious propaganda to defame him in digital media after he refused to pay him the amount.

Late Friday night, Sharma once again put out a tweet saying whatever he wrote came from his heart and it was his team that deleted those tweets. He also posted the images of the complaint filed. Screenshot of this since-deleted tweets are now doing rounds of social media.

The comedian, who became a household name with show Comedy Nights with Kapil, has been going through a rough patch in his career as well as in his personal life. It all started with infamous mid-night brawl with actor Sunil Grover. Followed by which Grover left his show along with other artistes including Ali Asgar.

Last year, Kapil, 37, had confessed that he was suffering from depression and had undergone treatment for the same. The comedy star recently made a comeback to small screen with Family Time With Kapil Sharma but the show has not been able to recreate the success of his previous show.
