Xiaomi has launched the new Redmi 5 in India. The 2GB RAM variant will be priced at Rs 7,999 while the 3GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 8,999 and the 4GB RAM variant will be priced at Rs 10,999. The device will be available from March 20, via mi.com, Amazon India and Mi Home Stores.  It will be available in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold colour variants.

Additionally, Xiaomi has also partnered with Reliance Jio to offer instant cash back of Rs 2,200 along with 100GB of additional data. SBI credit card holders will also get an additional 5 percent discount on Amazon India and Mi.com while purchasing the device. Lastly, users will also get 90 percent off on their first Kindle eBooks purchase.

In terms of specifications, the Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch display with a 1440 x 720 pixels resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM variants. It will also be available in 16GB/32GB storage variants.

It will come equipped with a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash along with a 5MP front-facing camera with Beautify 3.0 capabilities and LED flash. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A 3300mAh battery completes the package.
