Xiaomi might introduce a Red color variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India on September 4.

Xiaomi India took to Twitter and said, “RED is coming! Watch this space tomorrow at 10 AM!” while the tagline said, “Get RED-y to be mesmerized. Stay tuned.”

At the moment, the 4GB RAM variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in India is priced at Rs 14,999 while the 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 16,999. It is also available in Black, Blue, Gold, and Rose Gold colour variants.

Similar to the Redmi Note 5, the Note 5 Pro has a full-screen display. It is powered by a Snapdragon 636 processor along with a 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup and a 20MP front facing camera with Sony IMX376 sensor. Xiaomi is said to use pixel binning and Beautify 4.0 to ensure perfect selfies. Both smartphones include connectivity features such as dual-SIM 4G VoLTE capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 4000mAh battery completes the package.

Xiaomi has also begun pushing the MIUI 10 China Developer ROM for the Redmi Note 5 Pro which includes an option to record 1080p video in 60fps. The update adds the ability to capture Full HD videos at up to 60fps. At the moment, feature is not available on the MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM. Also, there is no information provided whether electronic image stabilization (EIS) is active on this mode.
