As per leaks, Samsung is expected to unveil the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ on February 25. The company is also hinted to include a more advanced face recognition for the devices. This technology is being called 'Intelligent Scan’.

According to Android Police, Intelligent Scan isn't present in any stable Samsung software, nor is it found in any Oreo beta builds. This tech is said to combine the sometimes-limited information the iris scanner and your front camera can each extract to piece together a fuller picture of whoever is trying to unlock the phone.

A video has also been shared which highlights the feature. It suggests  that both the iris scanner and camera are active at the same time regardless of the conditions, but it's not certain whether this means combining their data or using one as a backup for the other, explains Engadget. At the moment, this feature is rumored to debut on the Galaxy S9.

The company is also said to follow the new trend that has been adopted by Apple for the new iPhones and Google for the Pixel smartphones – no headphone jack. According to a report, Samsung was working on two Galaxy S9 prototypes, one with front-facing in-display fingerprint sensor and other with rear fingerprint sensor. However, a source suggests that the Galaxy S9 fingerprint sensor won’t be integrated into the display.

According to reports, the upcoming Galaxy S9 will sport a 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy S9+ will sport a 3500mAh battery. These are the same battery capacities, which we present in the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ as well.

In terms of rumoured specifications, the Galaxy S9 would feature a 5.8-inch Infinity display, along with 12MP and 16MP dual cameras to the front and rear. In terms of operating power, the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will have the latest-generation processors, namely either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 or the Exynos 9810, depending on the country.

The company also plans to implement 3D sensing facial recognition feature and rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security. The Galaxy S9+ would feature a 6.2-inch display and both smartphones will be IP65/68 water and dust resistant respectively.
