Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone SE 2 during the WWDC 2018 in June this year. Ahead of the launch, several leaks and rumours have appeared online, which hint at the design and specifications. The latest leak has appeared online which reportedly shows of the upcoming device.

Based on the video posted by Chinese video-sharing website Miaopai and redirected to YouTube by Macotakara, the iPhone SE 2 will sport a similar design to the previous iteration, the iPhone SE. However, the new iPhone will include a glass-back design. This hints at the fact that the iPhone SE 2 may include a wireless charging technology and support for Qi wireless charging. Additionally, it might also sport a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

In the past, Digitimes Research analyst Luke Lin stated that the company was preparing a new inexpensive smartphone similar to the iPhone SE for 2018, featuring the wireless charging functionality, but not 3D sensing. The smartphone was to begin mass production in the second quarter with the official launch in May or June.

Apple’s iPhone SE 2 might also launch as an India-exclusive this year, points out a new report. According to the source Tekz24, the iPhone SE 2 will be manufactured and assembled in India, unlike other Apple devices which have been manufactured in China by Foxconn. GizmoChina points out that the reason could be that India has import tariffs on hi-tech products, and this could make the company competitive with local phone makers.

Apple is gearing up to introduce three new iPhones this year – two of those are expected to sport an OLED display while the other one will come with an LCD display. However, a new report shares new details about the LCD panel for the new 6.1-inch model.

According to a report, this model will be manufactured by Japan Display Inc (JPI) and the company will be using a thin-film touch panel, which will replace the current touch panel. Japan Display also says that Full Active LCDs are six-inch displays with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels.

Previous rumours suggest the 6.1-inch LCD model will probably sport a metal back [like older iPhones] available in several colors, adding that the other two OLED handsets will come in two sizes: one about 6.3 inches long and the other 5.8 inches.

These rumours fall in line with predictions from noted KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo who stated that Apple would launch three iPhones in 2018, out of which one would be a TFT-LCD model, which would be the most affordable iPhone from the group. This model may start around $649 to $749 (approximately Rs 42,500 to Rs 49,000) which is around the same price range of an iPhone 8.
