Vodafone Red offers 30GB data, unlimited Calls in Rs 399 plan: Check details

The plan also offers Vodafone RED Shield that is a device insurance offering which is claimed to protect your smartphone from damage and theft.

To take on its rivals Vodafone Red in its Rs 399 plan is now offering more data, unlimited calls and other freebies. The telecom consumer is cashing in the intense price war since Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio's entry in the sector. 

Following which, the biggies are now offering many plans to their prepaid and postpaid customers in order to maximise their customer base. 

Now, in its latest Rs 399 plan, Vodafone will take on Reliance Jio, Airtel and others. The company has updated its RED plan for postpaid customers. 

The new Vodafone plan, priced at Rs. 399, offers benefits such as unlimited local and STD calls, national roaming, 100 SMSes, and 30GB 3G/ 4G monthly data (with rollover option up to 200GB). 

Not just these, Vodafone RED under Rs 399 plan also offering free access to movies worth Rs. 4,000 via Vodafone Play service for 1 year and bundled Magzter subscription to provide a vast collection of over 3,500 e-magazines for 4 months.

However, like its previous plans under Vodafone REd, the Rs 399 plan has also been capped at 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes per week. 

The plan also offers Vodafone RED Shield that is a device insurance offering which is claimed to protect your smartphone from damage and theft.

Earlier, Vodafone RED subscribers can avail the Rs 399 plan by dialing 199 from their mobile handsets. 

Tha updated plan is yet to be featured on the website. However, it won't be available in states of Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh circles.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that Vodafone and Idea may start working as a single entity by April, this year. According to a Mint report, Vodafone Group Private Limited and Idea Cellular Limited are likely to start operating as a merged entity from the first week of April onward. 

Citing two sources the report stated that the development was confirmed by two people who have deep knowledge of the matter. 

If everything goes by the plan, then Vodafone and Idea may work as the single entity three months before the earlier deadline, which was somewhere around first half of calendar year 2018.

Vodafone MD and CEO Sunil Sood had earlier said the merger between Vodafone and Idea Cellular is on track and is expected to be completed in 2018.

After the merger, the merged entity will be the largest telecom company in India and the second largest in the world with over 400 million customers, with a 35 customer share and a 41 per cent revenue share.
