Vivo’s APEX concept smartphone, which was unveiled during Mobile World Congress, might be officially launched in China on March 5.

The device features a 5.99-inch display along with a screen-to-body ratio of over 90 percent. The top bezel is of 1.8 mm while the bottom bezel is of 4.3mm. The APEX concept phone features an under-display fingerprint scanner technology which spans across the bottom-half of the display. This technology is called, ‘Half- Screen In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology’.

According to GizmoChina, the space taken by the circuit board has been reduced by nearly 60 percent on the device, which allowed the company to add a larger battery inside the concept phone. It is also equipped with some sort of cooling technology that prevents overheating.

The device also features an 8MP elevating front camera and the company's own ‘Screen SoundCasting’ technology that sends vibrations through the display without the need for a traditional loudspeaker.

The first device from the company with the industry first in-display fingerprint scanning technology was X20 Plus UD, which was unveiled at CES in January.
