Earlier this week, Snapchat rolled out an update to its iOS app. However, with the update, the app's source code also got exposed. As Motherboard reports, the code was exposed on GitHub. However, Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, revealed that it did not compromise the app and had no impact on the community.

Snap has asked GitHub to remove the exposed code data from the site. The public access to the repository has also been disabled but some researchers appear to be exchanging the data privately.

Snapcash, which started as a way of splitting bills among friends ended up being used as a way of exchanging private content, and now parent Snapchat wants to put it to rest. Four years after launching the peer-to-peer payment service, Snapcash will be shutting down on August 30, TechCrunch reported. Snapcash was the first product Snapchat built in partnership with another company called Square.

If you are an avid Snapchat user, you might soon be able to use it to shop at Amazon. An app researcher has discovered a code indicating a Camera Search or Visual Search feature. As the name suggests, the feature would allow you to scan objects and barcodes to show you results from Amazon, Engadget reported. It is not clear as to when the feature will officially roll out, but when it does, it would seek to place Snapchat more than just a platform for sharing messaging and possibly get the service a cut from the purchases.
