Samsung India has announced the launch of it’s latest smartphone in the market. Called Galaxy A7, the device has been priced at Rs 23,990 for the variant with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM. There is also a higher variant with 128GB storage with 6GB RAM, which is priced at Rs 28,990.

At this price range, Samsung’s smartphone will face competition from the likes of the Xiaomi Poco F1, and the Honor Play among others. The new Samsung Galaxy A7 will be first available during a preview sale on September 27 and 28 via Flipkart, and Samsung‘s online e-store. It will then go on open sale starting September 29. Buyers will be able to avail a cashback of Rs 2,000 if they purchase using a HDFC Bank debit or credit card.

The highlight of the Galaxy A7 is its triple-camera system at the back. This is the first time that Samsung has announced a device with a three cameras. The setup comes with a primary 24-megapixel camera sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide lens, and a third 5-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies and video calling, there’s a 24-megapixel sensor up front.

As for the rest of the specifications, the Galaxy A7 is powered by a 2.2GHz Exynos 7885 octa-core CPU. The internal memory mentioned above is expandable up to 512GB with the use of a microSD card. The smartphone sports a 6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels, and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

The device is backed by a 3,300mAh battery, and for security there’s a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the software front, the device runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box..
