Vodafone India is now offering unlimited free calls both STD and local with 28 GB 4G data in just Rs 392 to its customers. The offer, however, is only valid for its Delhi-NCR customers.

The latest offer is valid for 28 days and can be availed at any of Vodafone stores.

“A large part of Vodafone’s pre-paid subscribers from Delhi & NCR go on roaming during the festive season. We found an existing need for these subscribers to have a pocket-friendly pack that enables them to stay connected with their world even while they are travelling or out of the station. Vodafone Delhi has designed the pack precisely to bridge that need,” said, Alok Verma, Business Head – Delhi-NCR, Vodafone India.

Apart from this, Vodafone is also offering free calls both local and STD in a combo pack of Rs 198. However,  the unlimited calls are valid on Vodafone to Vodafone network only.

Meanwhile, following rate cuts by major operators Airtel and Idea Cellular, Vodafone earlier this month came out with promotional schemes offering up to 67% more data of 2G, 3G and 4G services at same price during this month.

The development comes within a fortnight after Airtel and Idea slashed data tarrifs. "The Rs39 2G sachet pack with 5-day validity now offers 225MB data compared to 160 MB, an increase of 41%, while the Rs 12 3G/4G sachet pack with 1-day validity now offers 50 MB data vs 30MB, an increase of 67% ," Vodafone said. The pack prices mentioned are indicative and may vary from circle to circle, it added.

"With Vodafone Delights offering more data, we want our several million customers to enjoy this network experience to the fullest. We are confident that this move of offering up to 67% additional data benefit on select pre-paid packs, will facilitate in faster adoption of data," Vodafone India, Director-Commercial, Sandeep Kataria said.

Incumbents have triggered data war to ward off threat from Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio which slashed price of 4G LYF handsets by 25% to Rs 2,999.
