OnePlus will offcially launch the 'Red Edition' color variant of the OnePlus 6 in India today. It will go on sale via Amazon India at 12PM IST for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, and will be available for the same price as the other OnePlus 6 variants, ie, Rs 39,999.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had earlier mentioned in a blog, “After the success of the OnePlus 5T Lava Red, we decided to produce a red edition worthy of the OnePlus 6. After evaluating hundreds of colors, one color stood out among the rest. That color is now what we proudly call the OnePlus 6 Red.”
The company has used a new film coating process for the OnePlus 6 to achieve an “amber-like” depth and clarity. In an effort to maintain a bright coating, the design team at OnePlus included an evaporated layer of brightening film, to make crystal clear. This is how the company achieved a sizeable glossy, transparent layer over the red coating.
In terms of specifications, the device features a 6.28-inch FullHD+ Optic AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM option. It is available in 64GB/128GB/256GB storage variants as well.
It comes equipped with a dual-camera setup – 16MP + 20MP cameras. It also includes a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0 with aptX and aptX HD support, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v2.0) and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Running Android 8.1 Oreo with OxygenOS on top, the device is backed up by a 3,300mAh battery.
Recently, the company introduced an OnePlus 6 ‘Silk White’ Limited Edition in India for a price of Rs 39,999. The new device will be available in an 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant via e-commerce portal Amazon India as well as OnePlus Store.
