Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 5 and and Redmi 5 Plus in China tomorrow.

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi 5 and and Redmi 5 Plus in China on December 7. The Director of product management Donovan Sung recently shared a set of tweeted photos of the device, hinting that the smartphone will sport 18:9 bezel-less display. Additionally, the company also promoted the launch of the Xiaomi Redmi 5, with a few video teasers.

Now, just a day before launch, the prices for the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus has appeared on retailer website AliExpress. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 is priced at $199 (approximately Rs 12,800) for the Black or Gold colour variants while the Blue or Pink colour variants are priced at $209 (approximately Rs 13,500).
On the other hand, the Redmi 5 Plus for the Black and Gold color variants are priced at $249 (approximately Rs 16,000) while the Blue and Pink color variants are priced at $259 (approximately Rs 16,500).
In terms of rumoured specifications, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 would feature a 5.9-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with a 2160x1080 pixels resolution. It is said to sport a full-screen design with thin bezels around the display. It will be powered by a 2.0GHz octa-core processor along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 636. It will be available in two variants - 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage. Running Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based MIUI 9, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will be backed up by a 4,000mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is rumoured to feature a 5.9-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 SoC or Snapdragon 630 SoC and will be offered in two variants - 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. The device will run Android 7.1.2 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top and will be backed up by 4000 mAh battery.
