Leaked: Purported image of the Xperia XZ2 Compact appears online

Sony is expected to unveil new smartphones during Mobile World Congress next week. The latest leak is of a device, which might be a prototype for the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact. The company recently released a teaser video for the event, which will take place on February 26.

According to the photo shared by a commenter on Xperia Blog, the purported Xperia XZ2 Compact is placed next to an Xperia Z5 Compact. The image comes from a comment by ‘Grisha’ in a post about Sony’s MWC video tease.

It is believed that there is no 3.5mm headphone jack and that the fingerprint sensor is located on the rear of the device, similar to the Xperia XA2 series.

Recently, leaked images of a new smartphone by Sony surfaced online. Dubbed, the Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra, the device is also expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress. The device was spotted earlier, bearing the model number H4233.

The device is the successor to the Xperia XA1 Ultra and will include a few design changes. It sports thin bezels on the left and right sides, while the chins are as thick. In terms of rumoured specifications, the device will come with a 6 inch display with a 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, paired with 4GB of RAM. It will also include an internal storage of 64GB. The upcoming smartphone will run Android 8.0 Oreo and comes equipped with two-front-facing cameras.
