Instagram gives users a shock, removes this feature

Earlier, this new change in Instagram was introduced in China, Thailand, and Argentina in December 2020.

In a new change, Instagram has disabled sharing or re-sharing posts from feeds as stories.

The online video and photo sharing social media service company have issued a notification saying, 'Testing a change to sharing to stories'.

“We hear from our community that they want to see fewer feed posts in stories. During this test, you won’t be able to add a feed post to your story.” the notification further stated.

Earlier, this new change in Instagram was introduced in China, Thailand, and Argentina in December 2020. Now, It has also been introduced in India. Users in India now cannot share feed posts in their story.

This has come as a shock to small businesses whose brand value depended on them sharing feed posts on Instagram stories.

Meanwhile, Instagram's feature reels, an alternative to Tik Tok has caught on like wildfire. With this feature, people can record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects, and new creative tools.  

Instagram also allows users to share the reels to Explore and gives users the opportunity to access a larger audience, especially since more than 50 percent of accounts on Instagram globally visit Explore every month. Explore can showcase an entertaining selection of reels made by public accounts on Instagram, which may inspire people to create their next reel.
