Google is officially rolling out Lens to Android users, who use Google Photos. Up until now, this tool was available only to Pixel devices. The company has promised that Lens in Google Photos will roll out to iOS users soon. However, there is no timeline provided.

The company took to Twitter to make the announcement. “Rolling out today, Android users can try Google Lens to do things like create a contact from a business card or get more info about a famous landmark. To start, make sure you have the latest version of the Google Photos app for Android,” the Google Photos team tweeted.

Lens, is a set of vision-based computing capabilities that can understand what you're looking at and help you take action, based on that information. With Lens, you'll be able to point your phone's camera at a flower and have it automatically identify the flower for you. One can also edit out the “fence you were forced to shoot through at your child's baseball game”.

Last month, the company announced that Lens will be available to English-language users on compatible flagship devices. It must be pointed out that users should have the latest version of the app to use Google Lens. Eventually, this tool will also be available through Google Assistant, including smartphones from Samsung, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Sony and Nokia.
