As a part of the Flipkart Republic Day Sale, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is on discount.

The device, which is originally priced at Rs 12,999, receives a discount of Rs 2000 and is now available for Rs 10,999. Exchange offers up to Rs 10,000 will also be available along with a BuyBack guarantee at Rs 99 only. This brings the effect price down to Rs 999.    

In terms of specifications, the smartphone will feature a 5-inch HD display with a 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 435 processor and includes a microSD card which can be further expanded up to 128GB. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top, the device comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and PDAF along with a 5MP front-facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n. A 4100mAh battery completes the package.

During CES 2018 this year, Facebook announced that it would launch its first VR headset in China as part of a partnership with Chinese phone maker Xiaomi.

The new Oculus device will be called Mi VR Standalone, and will be share the same hardware, as the Oculus Go. The headset will be available exclusively in China. At the moment, no details have been shared on when exactly, the device will be available.

Xiaomi mentioned in a blog post, “Both headsets have the same advanced technologies, including a 2K high-resolution fast-switch LCD screen, next-generation lenses and integrated spatial audio. Adding to these features is a vast content library of movies, 360° videos and interactive games available through the Mi VR Store.”

The device will use the same chipset as the Oculus Go, which is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821. Mi VR Standalone features spatial audio technology developed by Oculus. The audio drivers are built directly into the headset and also feature a 3.5mm headphone jack for a private listening experience.
