Ahead of a September 28 release across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC, a ten-team, two-mode preview of soccer simulation "FIFA 19" is to begin on September 13.

Fictional rags-to-riches youth star Alex Hunter returns for story mode trilogy closer "The Journey: Champions," and there is a look at an official, newly licensed Champions League tournament in the PS4, XBO and PC demo package for "FIFA 19."

Formerly part of rival annual soccer sim "PES" (or "Pro Evolution Soccer"), the top-tier UEFA Champions League, second-tier Europa League, and the Champions and Europa winners' face-off, the Super Cup, are part of a FIFA game for the first time, at least in terms of brand-sanctioned labelling.

Additional retail releases of the full game are planned for Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, while "FIFA Mobile" is on its own update schedule. Electronic Arts also completed the reveal of its top 100 in-game players on September 12, judging cover star Cristiano Ronaldo its number 1 with an overall FIFA Soccer rating of 94. Tied on 94 yet in second place was Lionel Messi, with Neymar Jr third (92), the 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball winner Luka Modrić in fourth (91), and Belgian Kevin de Bruyne in fifth (91).

They are followed by Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos, Luis Suarez, David De Gea, and Toni Kroos.

"FIFA 19" marks the first time in franchise history that both Messi and Ronaldo have been given the same rating. Portuguese forward Ronaldo moved from Spanish side Real Madrid to Italian team Juventus in a player transfer tallied at a minimum of €100 million ($115m USD).

That figure was the highest to date for a player over 30 years old, the sixth highest of all time, and a €6m increase on Ronaldo's 2009 Manchester United to Real Madrid move which, at the time, was a world record.
